Wet (NSS) Smear
Microbiology tests grow pathogens from a sample (urine, blood, sputum, wound swab, body fluid) and identify them using automated systems. When organisms grow, an antibiotic-sensitivity panel tells your physician which drugs will work. Samples are collected at home by a licensed medical technologist using sterile transport media.
